Here we will investigate that which has been revealed to us through inspiration in regard to the Holy Spirit—also known as the Comforter, the Omnipresent, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Ghost, the third person of the Godhead, and the Eternal Spirit. There is much confusion in our world today regarding the Holy Spirit and we hope to settle some of those controversies. Is the Holy Spirit a person or a personality? Is the Holy Spirit merely a power or influence? While we will not endeavor to discover the nature of the Holy Spirit, we will seek to identify who the Holy Spirit is in relation to God the Father and His only begotten Son Jesus.
